GERSED Belgium is the Study and Research Group for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Belgium) and was created in October 2017 by health professionals (specialist and general practitioners and paramedics), invested in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD).
It is listed as a NETWORK OF EXPERTS in Ehlers-Danlos syndrome on the ORPHANET rare diseases portal (INSERM - Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale).
GERSED Belgium is affiliated with and recognized bythe EDS Society ( EDS & HSD Global Alliance).
The purpose of this association is:
-the exchange of knowledge and experience on the diagnosis and treatment of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD)
-bibliographic information
-organisation of epidemiological surveys
-enriching the semiological knowledge of EDS
-therapeutic prospectives and evaluation of treatments
-organising training for health professionals and social actors
-the organisation of clinical and therapeutic education sessions for patients and their families
-producing scientific works and books on EDS
-to promote the social and therapeutic rights of EDS patients
